Tanya Chutkan, a U.S. district judge, has been picked at random to rule over the newest indictment against former President Donald Trump.

Early Life and Education
Tanya Chutkan was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and traveled to the United States to study economics at George Washington University.
She later went on to study law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Legal Career
Tanya Chutkan worked in private practice for three years after finishing her law degree before joining the District of Columbia Public Defender Service.
She worked there for nearly a decade as a trial attorney and supervisor, handling matters connected to homicide, sex crimes, and domestic violence.
